things were so hard for so long starting with the passing of my dad and then it seems like everything else fell apart after he was gone. i'm sure it had a lot to do with my emotional state and eventually my physical state caught up and suffered. i was pretty depressed and felt so fatigued. it took everything i had in me and i had to dig deep to pull myself out of the depression. it was such a struggle but i took a small step each day. it started with exercise, that changed my mindset pretty quickly. i exercise outdoors and there's something about being out in the fresh air getting exercise. at first i started walking and then i moved on to jogging. now i jog almost every morning. then i started practicing gratitude and i list out things i'm grateful for. i actually read about that here. i'm not that guy normally but this changed my life and i think it's something that i'll keep doing even when i'm feeling good for a while. ever since i started exercising and practicing gratitude this has shifted things in my life towards the positive. its helped my anxiety and depression a lot. it's not gone but it's so much more manageable.

Digby, this is such great news. I know you've been through so much and I am so happy to hear that you were able to manage your depression and anxiety. Exercise is a lifesaver for me. I don't know what I'd do without it. Before I used to be lazier about exercise because it was more for my physical health before but when I started doing it for my mental health, that changed everything. I won't miss a work out because it does wonders for my anxiety.

So happy to hear that Digby. You've been on quite a journey and it's always good to know when you are able to get to the other end of it and come out of it in a more positive way.

Digby, that's so fantastic! I am really happy that things have gotten better for you. I hope they keep on this path of getting better and better and better. And exercise makes such a difference. I can tell when I don't exercise my mental health tends to suffer. I have fallen off the exercise train and need to get back on. I've been feeling a lot more anxious without it. Your post has encouraged me to get back in action with my workout routine.
