last week i decided to finally take up running because i've read how beneficial it is to anxiety and there are so many health benefits overall. i started super slow, a nice jog, but being outside in and of itself completely melted my anxiety away. i felt no anxiety when i was running. so now i wake up every morning and go for a nice run in my neighborhood, i've even seen the sunrise. it's pretty amazing. hearing the birds chirping, the cool crisp air and feeling that anxiety melt off and away. why didn't i do this sooner? well i suppose i wasnt in the right state of mind. i can't recommend it enough. i was never a runner and never thought i would be but here i am...a runner :-)

Hmm, I had accidentally duplicated my comment and this site isn't allowing me to delete it. Oh well!

@digby you expressed exactly how I feel! I always hated running, until I chose to try it to manage my anxiety. When anxiety management became my new motivation, and I started seeing positive effects, it became an activity I really looked forward to.

Digby, that's so fantastic. I am so happy for you and so happy that you found something that helps you manage your anxiety. I think it's so important to have something that works for you. It took me a while to find the right thing, so for me it's yoga and meditation.
