I have had anxiety for years but I never experienced any physical aches and pains, that is, until recently. I'm writing about this today because as I sit here I am feeling really achy. This never used to be the case in the past.

I have been doing research about it and it seems that anxiety can cause physical aches and pains. I never knew this! No doctor ever told me this. It's a really uncomfortable feeling and has been adding to my anxiety. I think that when I'm already in an anxious state any little thing can add to it and make my anxiety much worse. Suddenly having random aches and pains made my anxiety a lot worse so I started to Google "does anxiety cause aches and pains" and there it all was, everything that I needed to read in order to help calm me down a bit. I know that it sounds silly but just knowing what could be causing these aches and pains made me feel slightly better.

Has anyone ever experienced aches and pains from their anxiety before?

hey millie when i was going through my crazy burn out phase and working way too much and going out after work all of the time my anxiety was insane. it was so bad that i had a hard time even catching my breath a lot of times. once i collapsed from burn out i had so many aches and pains through my body and total weakness. i thought it was all from burn out but now i'm wondering if it was from anxiety. maybe it was.

yeah i've read that anxiety can cause aches and pains because you don't get enough blood flow to muscles and then once your anxiety subsides and your blood flow goes back to its regular process you can experience aches and pains as if you worked out. that happens to me. at first it would freak me out but then i talked to my psychiatrist about it and she educated me on it. try a warm bath with epsom salts. also i have a magnesium spray that i use. it stings a bit but once the stinging subsides it's really effective.

Anxiety and stress will reek havoc on the body. I have dealt with some many things in my life and I feel that slowly my body has been getting weaker and weaker. I pray that I have not done any permamnent damage.

I don't like to hear that anyone is going through aches and pain like I am but it helps to know that I am not alone in experiencing these symptoms from anxiety. Sometimes I feel so alone with my anxiety that it helps to know that others are experiencing the same thing. Thank you for the suggestions too Bali, I appreciate it.
