So a friend recommended that I get a diffuser and fill it up with lavendar which is supposed to have a calming effect. I bought one on amazon for less than $25 and the lavendar bottle was less than $5. I put it on my nightstand when I get into bed at night. This is usually when my thoughts go wild. I use deep breathing techniques and this seem to help get me to a calming place. I recommend that people try it if they can.

I have found that different oils can be used for different purposes: Chamomile Essential Oil is great for insomnia or restlessness. Peppermint Essential Oil is good for migraines and headaches. Frankincense Essential Oil is also good for anxiety and depression. Cypress Essential Oil is good for stress. I would recommend trying one a time for a couple of weeks because sometimes it takes a while for your body to react.

Hi Sunshine, I live and breathe by my diffuser. I never thought it would have as much of a calming effect as it does. I buy an essential oil called Chill Out and it completely takes my stress and anxiety level down.

I've heard so many good things about the benefits of essential oils and how calming they can be. I need to buy a diffuser and give it a try.
