i've been taking ativan for a little while now and i don't like how it makes me feel. yes the anxiety goes away and i feel very relaxed, but almost too relaxed. i don't have energy when i take it. i want to take a nap all of the time. i'm going to talk to my doctor about this but does anyone else here have good or bad experience on ativan? maybe i need to give it more time, not sure.

i haven't taken ativan regularly but when i was in emergency bc of a panic attack i was given ativan once they diagnosed what it was and then they gave me a few to take home. my psychiatrist told me that it's more for panic attacks but i know that people also take it for anxiety. i know that when i did take it in emergency and the couple of days following it make me feel super drowsy. i wasn't able to function well and maybe that's only bc i hadn't taken it before. definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Hi Digby, I don't take Lorazepam(Ativan) daily, I only take it on an as-needed basis. This morning I felt a panic attack coming on so I took one and it subsided the symptoms quickly but it's been a bit harder to work and focus. I keep yawning and feel like I want to take a big long nap so I get how you're feeling. I am sure that your doctor can provide other options for you. You should feel good on your meds and not sleepy/drowsy all of the time.
