Side Effects Overview of Ludiomil

Ludiomil (generic: maprotiline) is a tetracyclic antidepressant used for the treatment of depression and anxiety. As with any medication, there are potential side effects associated with the use of Ludiomil. Most Ludiomil side effects are similar to those of other tetracyclic and tricyclic antidepressants.

Commonly Reported Side Effects

While there are a number of side effects that may occur with the use of Ludiomil, certain ones are experienced by more people than others. The most common side effects of the medication are dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, nervousness, and constipation. Other common side effects include blurred vision, weakness, fatigue, headache, anxiety, tremor, trouble sleeping, agitation, and nausea. While these side effects are among the more common, you should consult your doctor if you experience notable anxiety, agitation or trouble sleeping, or if you have any side effect that you find worrying or bothersome.

Serious Side Effects

Along with the anxiety and insomnia mentioned above, there are a number of possible Ludiomil side effects that you should share with your doctor. These include a change in heart rhythm, fast heart rate, seizures, confusion or hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior, jaundice, signs of mania (such as hostility or aggressiveness, risky behavior, extreme elation, and hyperactivity), suicidal thoughts, and signs of an allergic reaction (such as a rash, trouble breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat).
