Hello, my name is Pixie and I am new to this forum. I have been battling anxiety for many years since I was a teenager and I've been in and out of psychiatrists offices and been on meds for what seems like ages. I never sought out anything different, I never thought to seek out natural remedies or treatment but now as an adult and woman in her 30s I am more focused on being healthy from the inside and out. I am not opposed to meds when needed by I just don't want to be popping pills everyday and not feeling like myself. For years I've felt like a dumbed down version of myself and each round of meds makes me feel differently. If I complain to my psychiatrist about what a certain med is making me feel like then he'll try a different kind of med and that comes with different issues. I want to try something different but I'm not even sure where to start. Has anyone here ever gone off meds and tried natural treatment and been successful? Thank you for listening to my story :-)

hey pixie, i feel you on that. i've been on meds for years and i'm pretty tired of it too. i haven't liked the two that i've been on at different times bc they don't make me feel like myself. one made me feel like a zombie. it would be amazing if i could live a med free life.

Hi Pixie, I went through what you are going through in regard to wanting to not be medicated all day every day. I worked with my doctor on a way to get myself there but I still take anxiety medication as-needed. And I worked a lot on managing my stress. I've had chronic stress in my life and once I realized that it wasn't the actual stress that was my problem but how I managed the stress in my life that mattered the most. Stress directly affects my anxiety so I meditate and do a lot of deep breathing, that keeps me centered.
