Extreme Physical Symptoms of Stress

An article from Prevention provides a list of 6 strange physical symptoms of stress that you may not even associate with too much stress in your life. The article offers an explanation of each symptom, as well as tips for treating the problems by lowering the amount of stress in your life and the way you react to it.

The six strange physical symptoms of stress:

  • Vomiting, often at the same time each day
  • Hair loss, sometimes up to 70% of hair
  • Nosebleeds (a matter of some debate)
  • Memory loss, the result of excessive levels of cortisol acting on the brain's hippocampus
  • Weakened immunity, which may result in illness
  • Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis

Instead of letting these physical symptoms stress you out more, know that there are solutions. These symptoms can all be addressed by taking control of your stress levels, and they are generally not a cause for extreme concern. Of course, it is always a good idea to see a physician about any unexplained physical symptoms you are having, just to rule out a medical condition as the cause.
