Amanda Seyfried Shares Her Struggles With Anxiety and Panic Attacks

No one is immune to anxiety and panic attacks, including celebrities. Actress Amanda Seyfried recently told British Glamour magazine that she is in therapy to deal with panic attacks and anxiety.

"[Therapy] has been such a great tool, and my therapist told me that I passed with flying colors, but we'll see how things go," Seyfried says in this month's issue of the magazine.

"I still do get terribly nervous, and that's partly due to the fact I think too much and overanalyze things," she explained. "I'll start worrying about my parents or my dog, and I'll picture him opening the window of my apartment and falling out, even though I can't get that thing open myself."

Many people are prone to anxiety, and it makes sense that fame could trigger things like panic attacks. Seyfried's recent high-profile relationship with Ryan Phillippe is one reason she thinks her anxiety has increased to the point of panic attacks. ABC News' Health blog points out that a number of other celebrities, such as Charlize Theron, Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Alba and Leonardo DiCaprio, have admitted having obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) or OCD tendencies--traits that are also considered to be anxiety-related.
